Asbestos Removal Waverley

Waverley's residential areas contain a mix of post-war houses and apartments, many of which were constructed using asbestos cement products. Our team regularly removes asbestos from eaves, bathrooms, and garages in the area, following strict SafeWork NSW protocols.

Waverley's older semis, cottages and small blocks of flats sit close to the coast, and salt air is hard on the materials of that era. Asbestos cement in eaves, gables, garage walls and fence lines weathers, cracks and loses its surface coating over time, and once it is weathered it is far more likely to release fibres when it is knocked, cleaned with a pressure washer or walked on. Roof sheeting and old awnings are the most exposed of all.

Storm damage is a common reason Waverley owners call us. When a sheet is cracked by a falling branch, lifted by wind or broken by a ladder, the safest response is to leave it alone, keep people away from the area and have it removed properly rather than swept up. We can attend damaged material, make the area safe, and remove and dispose of the debris with the documentation an insurer will usually ask for as part of a claim.

Routine maintenance is where most of the risk sits. Pressure washing an asbestos cement roof or wall, drilling it for a new fixture, sanding it before painting or cutting it with a power tool all generate airborne fibres, and none of it is worth the saving. If a Waverley property still has fibro eaves, a fibro garage or an old fence in poor condition, replacement by a licensed removalist ends the problem permanently instead of managing it every few years.
