Asbestos Removal Canterbury

Canterbury and the surrounding Canterbury-Bankstown area contain extensive post-war housing, much of which was constructed using fibro (asbestos cement) cladding and other asbestos-containing products. Our team provides comprehensive removal services for residential and commercial properties throughout the area.

Canterbury's post-war houses were built at the height of fibro's popularity, and many still have their original sheeting in place. Asbestos is commonly found in external wall cladding, eaves, gable ends, bathroom and laundry linings, garage walls and roofs, and in the flat sheeting used for sheds and dividing fences. Homes altered in the 1970s and 1980s often have a second layer of it in rear additions, enclosed carports and converted garages.

Granny flats and secondary dwellings are a frequent trigger for our Canterbury work. Before a new dwelling can go in, the old garage, shed or fibro outbuilding standing in its place usually has to come down, and that demolition has to be handled as asbestos removal rather than general demolition. We remove and dispose of the structure, leave the site clean for the builder, and provide the documentation the certifier and the waste facility require.

Disposal is the part owners most often get wrong. Asbestos waste cannot go in a skip, a trailer load to a general tip or a council clean-up, and it must be wrapped, labelled and taken to a facility licensed to receive it. Our quotes include lawful disposal and the receipts that prove it, so an owner is never left holding wrapped material with nowhere legitimate to take it, or facing a fine for putting it out with ordinary waste.
