Asbestos Removal Ashfield

Ashfield is known for its well-preserved Federation architecture, but many of these homes underwent significant renovations in the post-war period that introduced asbestos-containing materials. Our team provides comprehensive removal services for Ashfield homeowners.

Ashfield has a large stock of substantial Federation and interwar houses, many long ago divided into flats, alongside red-brick walk-up blocks from the 1960s and 1970s. Subdivision is where the asbestos usually comes from: sheeting used to form new partitions, kitchens and bathrooms squeezed into former bedrooms, laundries and sleepouts added at the rear, and fire-rated linings around new stairs and service cupboards. Original garages and rear outbuildings on these blocks are commonly fibro as well.

Multiple-occupancy buildings need a more careful plan than a single house. We work out which units are affected, isolate the work area from the rest of the building, keep entries and shared corridors clean and usable, and schedule removal so tenants are not displaced longer than necessary. Owners are given a clear scope before work starts, which matters when the cost is being split between an owner, a managing agent and an insurer.

Where a building has been altered several times, an inspection before quoting is not optional. We identify the materials present, confirm whether they are friable or non-friable, and set out what must be removed now and what can safely be left in place and managed. That distinction saves money: not everything needs to come out, and an owner is better served by an honest assessment than by a quote to strip materials that are stable and undisturbed.
