Strip Out Sydney
Licensed strip outs across Sydney — internal linings, fit-out and asbestos removed by one crew, under one licence.
About This Service
A strip out takes a building back to its bones — internal walls, ceilings, floor coverings, kitchens, bathrooms and fit-out removed, structure left standing and ready for the rebuild. It's the first stage of almost every renovation, and in Sydney it is where asbestos turns up.
Any home or building put up or renovated before 1990 is likely to hide asbestos in exactly the materials a strip out disturbs: sheeting behind wall and ceiling linings, vinyl floor tiles and the black adhesive under them, eaves, and textured ceiling coatings. An unlicensed strip out crew has to stop work the moment it appears — which means delays, a second contractor and a bigger bill.
Mr Asbestos holds SafeWork NSW asbestos removal licence AD214680. We do the strip out and the licensed asbestos removal as a single job, with the disposal documentation handled — so the site is stripped, cleared and compliant without ever handing the job to someone else.
What's Included
Residential & Commercial Strip Outs
For homeowners we strip out single rooms through to whole houses — kitchen and bathroom strip outs before a renovation, or a full internal strip out ahead of a rebuild. For commercial clients we clear offices, retail tenancies, warehouses and industrial sites, working after hours or in stages so trading continues. Work areas are sealed and signed, and asbestos removal is scheduled around your operating hours.
How It Runs
1. Site assessment and fixed quote. We inspect, identify any suspected asbestos materials and give you an itemised fixed price — no per-hour surprises.
2. Licensed removal first. Where asbestos is present it comes out under licence, with the area sealed, waste double-wrapped and disposal documented.
3. Strip out. Linings, fittings and fit-out removed back to frame or slab.
4. Clean and clearance. Site swept and waste removed, with air monitoring and a clearance certificate where the job requires it — handed over ready for your builder.
Strip Out Questions
What is a strip out?
A strip out is the removal of a building's internal linings and fittings — walls, ceilings, floor coverings, kitchens, bathrooms and fit-out — back to the structural frame or slab, ready for a renovation or rebuild. Unlike full demolition, the building itself stays standing.
Why use a licensed asbestos removalist for a strip out?
Because in any Sydney building constructed or renovated before 1990, the material you strip out is very likely to contain asbestos — sheeting behind wall linings, vinyl floor tiles and their adhesive, eaves, and textured ceilings. A standard strip out crew has to stop and call in a licensed removalist the moment asbestos appears. We hold SafeWork NSW asbestos removal licence AD214680, so we complete the strip out and the asbestos removal as one job, with no shutdown and no second contractor.
Do you handle the asbestos disposal and paperwork?
Yes. Asbestos waste is double-wrapped, transported and disposed of at a licensed EPA facility, and you receive the disposal documentation. Where the job requires it we also arrange air monitoring and a clearance certificate.
How long does a strip out take?
A single kitchen or bathroom strip out is usually one day. A full internal house strip out typically runs two to four days depending on size and how much asbestos material is involved. We give you a fixed timeframe with the quote.
What areas do you cover for strip outs?
All of Sydney and the surrounding regions — including the Inner West, Eastern Suburbs, Western Sydney, the Sutherland Shire, Blue Mountains, Central Coast and Wollongong.
Can you strip out an occupied commercial site?
Yes. We work after hours and on weekends, and stage larger strip outs so your business keeps trading. Work areas are sealed and signed, and asbestos removal is scheduled outside your operating hours.
